Salomón Huerta (b. 1965, Tijuana, Mexico) is internationally recognized for his psychologically charged paintings that explore memory, identity, and the subtle tensions embedded within the American landscape. His work has been exhibited extensively, including the Whitney Biennialand the Hammer Museum, and is held in the permanent collections of major institutions such as the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego (MCASD), and the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery.

Born in Tijuana and raised in Boyle Heights, East Los Angeles, Huerta's early experiences profoundly shaped his artistic vision. As a teenager, he worked alongside his father landscaping the manicured gardens of affluent Westside neighbourhoods, witnessing a world that stood in stark contrast to his own upbringing.
