Graziela Guardino (b. 1979) is a Brazilian-born Australian artist based in Sydney, known for her minimalist woven painting-sculptures. Her practice begins with the meticulous deconstruction of linen, as she removes, separates, and rearranges individual threads to transform the traditional painted canvas into a dimensional, sculptural form. Through this meditative process, Guardino explores themes of nature, femininity, ancestry, memory, and the interconnectedness of human experience. Her works balance delicacy with strength, often revealing contrasts between presence and absence, fragility and resilience, and concealment and exposure. Guardino holds Master of Fine Arts degrees from RMIT University in Hong Kong and UNSW Art & Design, completing her research degree at RMIT with distinction. Her work has been exhibited throughout Australia, Brazil, India, Hong Kong, and Singapore and is held in private collections internationally.
