GW Contemporary presents Contained Radiance: Laguna, a solo exhibition by pioneering California Light and Space artist Laddie John Dill (b. 1943). Bringing together works spanning nearly six decades, alongside a new site-specific edition of his seminal Contained Radiance installation, the exhibition offers a rare opportunity to experience the artist's enduring exploration of light as a sculptural medium.
At the center of the exhibition is Contained Radiance / Laguna, an immersive installation of silica sand and light, first conceived in 1967 and reimagined for GW Contemporary's expanded gallery space. Presented alongside Dill's Light Sentences and Light Traps, the exhibition establishes a dialogue between three defining bodies of work, revealing the remarkable continuity and evolution of his investigation into light, material, and space.
